Samui Sea Safari

Checked out of our fancy pants hotel today and were gutted when we realised the deficiencies of our new lodgings. Great location and for only 20 bucks for a room you can't expect too much. Simon had to save me from a mega mega mega bug that was so scary.

Today we joined a tour that went by speed boat to Angthong Marine Park - group of islands - where we snorkelled and sea kayayked. Met some friends from our cool seat at the front of the boat. The water was fantastic and we saw heaps of tropical fish while snorkelling. Lunch was amazing too after a hard morning of watersports - beach front was beautifully decked out with chairs, rables, swings and hammocks. Later went on ATV track but that wasn't fun at all. Chocolate banana split from Swensen's for dessert. What a good day!






















What a brilliant day.

Snorkelling was heaps of fun - the water is just so warm and there were so many crazy looking fish. We made friends with some people in our tour group (yay!), and we had a fantastic time. The lunch was really good on a deserted (?) island, complete with hammocks.

Riding the four-wheel motorbikes was a definite highlight for me personally. These two nice American tourists said I was a natural - Americans are such an honest and trustworthy people so you have to believe it!

Our new hotel room/shack on the beach is pretty average but what it lacks in modern comforts it makes up for in location. It's a charming character room with good indoor-outdoor flow, and it's so close to the beach!
