Welcome to the greek islands - home of beautiful blue and white buildings, lots and lots of cats and beautiful sunsets!In 3 hours we were transported from Athens to Paros and a whole new world.
Island life is slow paced, beautiful, sunny, friendly and relaxing.
Paros is a smallish island of about 12,000 residents and it was great. We stayed at a camp ground near Surfing Beach about 13kms from the main port town but upgraded ourselves from a 2 bed beach shack to a fantastic bungalow. The temptation of an ensuite and fridge and aircon was just too much!
We explored the beautiful port and great backstreet shops and lounged by the pool for a couple of days.
Unfortunately after three nights it was time to island hop to Ios.
Upgrading our room is one of the best things that we have ever done.
We've been from Paris to Paros (Thailand to Paros actually, but this sounds better) and we've had some pretty shocking rooms. This room was fantastic. It's all about the air conditioning and the fridge. Air con is essential this time of year in Greece, and there's nothing better than having a fridge with which to cool your beer - something i've taken for granted in the past.
The island is really beautiful. The beaches are great with crystal-clear water, and the relaxed atmosphere is great. The quaint seaside village was charming.
